Federal Trade Commission Received Documents July 17, 1995 B18354900213 The 32nd Division Veteran Association 1995-1996 Officers PRESIDENT: Bill Stroebel 1028 Leisure World, Mesa, AZ 85206 (602) 641-2214 TREASURER: Ann Stroebel 1028 Leisure World, Mesa, AZ 85206 (602) 641-2214 FTC, MADE IN THE USA, DCA/ You desire comments from consumers as to what constitutes a product to be labeled 'made in the USA". My comments and those of us who are veterans who fought in WWII believe that a minimum of 95% of any item should have been made in the USA. Some believe 100% But that is an unrealist figure. We fought the war so we wouldn't be part of a totalitarian society and so items to be labeled "made in the USA" should be USA not any foreign import. As to "NEW BALANCE" claim "Made in the USA". That's a crock and poppycock. Chine was one of our Allies and now its communistic dominated and I surmise most of the items made in China are made in government controlled factories. We detest the "favored nation status" granted to China. China is as bad as Russia ever was and its discouraging to see so many items "made in China" which were once made in the USA. So "MADE IN THE USA" is most important to us and we just can't see how the company who makes shoes using Chinese products can claim they are "Made in the USA". We don't like imports but we buy them but they should not be labeled "Made in the USA". That operating under false pretenses. Yours truly, W. Stroebel July 15, 1995 W.
