Federal Trade Commission Received Documents May 6, 1996 P894219 B18354900154 12 Oyster Catcher Wilmington, N.C. 28405 April 29, 1996 The secretary of the Federal Trade Commission, Washington, D.C. 20580. Dear Sir: I saw Ms. Berstein on CNBC today and was surprised that she seemed to advocate dilecting the meaning of the words "Made in the U.S.,". Only products that are truly "Made in the U.S." should be allowed to make that claim. Products assembled in the U.S. could advertise that fact. We should be encouraging manufacturers and consumers to take pride in articles made in the U.S. and avoid making the phrase meaningless. Sincerely Helen Lyons
