New York Apparel Company Pays Civil Penalty To Settle FTC Charges That it Violated Care Labeling Rule
Laissez Faire, Inc., a New York City-based importer of women's clothing, has agreed to pay a $30,000 civil penalty to settle charges that it violated the Federal Trade Commission's Care Labeling Rule by failing to have a reasonable basis for one of the care instructions it placed on many of the garments it sold.

North Lake Tahoe Medical Group, Inc. (Tahoe IPA) -- a for-profit corporation that comprises at least 70 percent of all physicians practicing in the North and South Lake Tahoe areas -- has agreed to settle Federal Trade Commission charges that it restrained competition among physicians by fixing or increasing the prices that are paid for physician services, and deprived third-party payers, their subscribers, and patients, of the benefits of competition among physicians.
