Commission approval of amended complaint filing: The Commission has approved the filing of an amended complaint in the court matter currently pending against Business Card Experts, et al. (BCE). The original complaint, filed in November 2006 as part of the FTC’s Project Fal$e Hope$ law enforcement sweep, charged the defendants with using false and deceptive earnings claims and phony references to lure consumers into buying dealerships that gave consumers the right to sell color business cards and other materials produced by BCE. The amended complaint, filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota, names Kelley P. Boardman, wife of defendant Scott R. Boardman, as a relief defendant in the case.

The Commission vote approving the filing of the amended complaint was 5-0. A copy of the complaint can be found as a link to this press release on the FTC’s Web site. (FTC File No. X070011, Civ.
