FTC Commissioner Mozelle W. Thompson to Host Two Separate Panels in Northern California Next Week

Federal Trade Commission Commissioner Mozelle W. Thompson is slated to host two separate panels next week -- one titled "The Good News About the New, New Economy" at Stanford University Law School on November 5, 2001, and one titled "Why Online Privacy Is Still Important" on November 7, 2001 at the University of California at Berkeley's Boalt School of Law. Each will be open to the public and press. Details regarding the events are as follows:

"The Good News About the New, New Economy"

DISCUSSION OVERVIEW: This roundtable will feature leaders from industry, government and academia providing the Stanford community and the public an opportunity to "listen in" on a discussion moderated by Commissioner Thompson about the future of technology and the American economy. The participants will share their insights about lessons learned during the past nine years of economic growth, and where they expect to see new economic opportunities.

The program also will provide audience members an opportunity to pose questions to the panelists.
