Applications for approval of transactions: The FTC has received an application for approval of a transaction and is seeking public comments on the application for 30 days, until May 21, 1999.
BP Amoco p.l.c. (which was created by the merger of British Petroleum Company, p.l.c. and Amoco Corporation) has submitted an application to divest retail assets in eight markets, where both firms operated retail stations, to Tosco Corporation. The divestitures are required under the terms of a consent order made final by the FTC on April 19, 1999. Comments on the proposed divestiture should be addressed to the FTC, Office of the Secretary, 600 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20580.
