Federal Trade Commission brochures offering advice and tips for consumers, news releases announcing law-enforcement and other official Commission actions, background information on the agency and its key officials, and the text of FTC officials' speeches and other documents are now available on the FTC's World Wide Web site on the Internet. The uniform resource locator (URL) is: http://www.ftc.gov.

"This is yet another way the FTC is making useful infor- mation on a variety of issues available to consumers and others," said FTC Chairman Robert Pitofsky in announcing the new Web site. "Our goal is to get the information to those who need it wherever they are. And many consumers are on the Internet today."

Upon reaching the Web site, users will find the standard "home page" summarizing the type of information available and including "hyperlinks" that will connect users to documents they wish to browse or download, or to indices of other federal Web sites.

Hard copies of all FTC documents will continue to be available from the FTC's Public Reference Branch, Room 130, 6th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20580.
