Jane Kaufman Winn

Jane WinnProfessor Jane K. Winn is the Charles I. Stone Professor at the University of Washington School of Law in Seattle, Washington.  She joined the faculty in 2002 to teach commercial and technology law courses, and is also a director of the Shidler Center for Law, Commerce & Technology.  From 1989 to 2001, she taught commercial law and comparative law at Southern Methodist University School of Law in Dallas, Texas. In spring 2002, she was a visiting professor at the University of California, Berkeley School of Law and, since 2001, has been a Visiting Fellow of the University of Melbourne School of Law, for the e-Law program.

Professor Winn is a member of the American Law Institute and a board member of CALI (Computer Assisted Legal Instruction). From 1987-89, she practiced law at the New York office of Shearman & Sterling. She is coauthor of the treatise Law of Electronic Commerce (4th ed. 2006) and the casebook Electronic Commerce (2nd ed. 2005).  Her current research interests include electronic commerce law developments in the U.S., the European Union, and China.
