Brian Wieser, CFA, is MAGNA Global’s Director of Industry Analysis and works closely with Interpublic’s global media agencies. He is responsible for overseeing analyses of and forecasts for the domestic media economy. Supporting this work, Mr. Wieser analyses how individual and corporate actors, including advertisers, agencies, content suppliers, distributors and consumers, make decisions to allocate the resources which drive the industry. He has published thematic papers on topics such as demography (multicultural media, the aging society and the role of income on media consumption), new technology (including IPTV, video on demand, DVRs and mobile marketing) and politics (including the role of political advertising on local media as well as commentary on a host of FCC policies).
Mr. Wieser has been cited in publications such as Broadcasting & Cable, The Wall Street Journal and MediaWeek. Media Magazine included him among the industry’s “100 People to Know” in 2004 and 2005, and he was a keynote speaker at their Forecast 2005 conference.
