William Strauss
William Strauss is a historian, and, with his co-author Neil Howe, has written Generations (1991), 13th Gen (1993), The Fourth Turning (1997), and Millennials Rising (2000). Mr. Strauss and Mr. Howe write and lecture frequently on generational archetypes and how each generation has a distinctive character, world view and ways of relating to other generations. They manage LifeCourse Associates, a consulting firm for businesses, media, and government institutions interested in applying the Strauss-Howe theories to product development, marketing, human relations, or strategic planning.
Mr. Strauss is also a playwright, theatrical director and entertainer. He has written two musicals and is the co-founder and director of the Capitol Steps, a professional satirical troupe that has performed over 5,000 shows. Mr. Strauss is a native of San Francisco, and a graduate of Harvard College, Harvard Law School and the Kennedy School of Government.
