Gigi Sohn
Gigi B. Sohn is the President and Co-Founder of Public Knowledge, an advocacy group dedicated to preserving and defending rights in an emerging digital culture. She serves as the face of Public Knowledge, making frequent appearances in the national and trade press, as well as on numerous television and radio programs. She is also the group’s chief strategist and fundraiser.
Ms. Sohn is a Senior Fellow at the University of Melbourne Faculty of Law, Graduate Studies Program in Australia. She served as a Project Specialist in the Ford Foundation’s Media Arts and Culture unit and has held adjunct professor positions at Georgetown University and the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University. She was the Executive Director of the Media Access Project, a firm specializing in the representation of citizens’ rights before the Federal Communications Commission and the courts. She received the Internet Pioneer Award from the Electronic Frontier Foundation in May of 2006. Ms. Sohn holds a B.S. in Broadcasting and Film from Boston University and a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
