Jo Reed

Jo Reed is the National Coordinator for Livable Communities & Consumer Issues in AARP’s Federal Affairs Department. She has been with AARP for over 20 years, working as a lobbyist on low income, consumer protection and social services issues. Ms. Reed’s team handles a diverse array of issues including transportation, housing, financial services, telecommunications, privacy and programs serving vulnerable older Americans.

Before coming to Washington, DC, Ms. Reed worked for a California legislator serving on the State Aging Committee. She also worked for several years in community-based human care services. Ms. Reed has a Master’s degree in Social Work, with a concentration in Aging.
