Jean Ann Fox

Jean Ann FoxMs. Fox is director of consumer protection for the Consumer Federation of America, a nonprofit association of about 300 consumer groups, established in 1968 to advance the consumer interest through research, education, and advocacy.  She specializes in financial services, electronic commerce, and consumer protection issues.  She is a member of the Steering Committee of the Trans Atlantic Consumer Dialogue as well as its Information Society Workgroup.

She is the author or co-author of numerous financial services reports, including payday lending, refund anticipation loans, check cashing, bank overdraft loans and car title loans.  She is responsible for CFA’s mini web site www.paydayloaninfo.org.  Ms. Fox holds a Masters of Science degree from Cornell University and a Masters of Public Administration from the University of Pittsburgh.  She graduated from the University of Tennessee with a degree in home economics.
