Peter Cullen
Peter Cullen is Chief Privacy Strategist, Advanced Strategies and Policy for Microsoft Corporation. As Chief Privacy Strategist, Mr. Cullen is directly responsible for managing the development and implementation of programs which enhance the privacy of Microsoft products, services, processes and systems, both internally and worldwide. Cullen brings more than a decade of expertise in privacy and data protection practices to his role and Microsoft’s Trustworthy Computing initiative.
During his tenure at Microsoft, Mr. Cullen has been a leading advocate for strong and innovative personal information privacy and data safeguards, meeting regularly with industry and public policy leaders. He is a founding member of the Association of Corporate Privacy Officers, is on the Board of the International Association of Privacy Professionals, and also serves on the board of TRUSTe, a group dedicated to privacy and trust on the Internet. In 2003, Mr. Cullen was honored with the IAPP Vanguard Award for Privacy Innovation for his contributions to the privacy profession. Under Mr. Cullen’s leadership, Microsoft was awarded the HP/IAPP Privacy Innovation Award in 2004, a testament to the success of the Microsoft privacy program.
