I strongly feel that there needs to be more work done on how innocent people can protect themselves by having anyone use their identity. I also think credit card companies should contact the person who's name is on the application, either at work or at home. At work, because if it's a fraudulent application, they will find out by calling the work place. I mean, they are willing to give out credit cards to anyone who doesn't have credit, . and they should find out if the application is fraudulent or not somehow before even approving the credit card. I feel this is one of the reasons why credit card companies get ripped off so easily. They should use caution and protect themselves, too? And innocent people like myself get bad credit because of identity theft. I am a 26 yr old unemployed mother and don't have any assistance what so ever, and I don't think my husband should pay for my debt because my mother stole my identity without my knowledge.

why can't they just put it on her credit report or try to find out how to collect the money from her. Why should pay for a credit card, when my fingerprints or handwriting doesn't even exist on the credit card application?
