Subject: Stalking via credit reports

Please address the issue of an ex-spouse using credit reports obtained through his wife's employment, for the purpose of stalking. For the last ten years I had proof, but he has never been prosecuted. I obtained my first federal identity change about eight years ago, through Social Security. Things were quiet until my son became an adult and my ex-husband starting running his credit report. He showed up at our door after we had successfully been in hiding for thirteen years at that point. Now, I am going through my third ID change, and my married son is going through it to protect his wife and daughter. Imagine how our lives have been affected; our careers and income, no child support, our homes, our moving, and the loss of our identity. I have been telling our story to Congressmen, the District Attorneys, the Police, Domestic Violence Organizations, the Department of Justice, the Federal Trade Commission, the FBI, the US Secret Service, and over the last five years; to organizations addressing ID theft. The credit bureaus have done nothing to help us over the years. We are invisible to everyone except the man who stalks us.

Former Supreme Court Justice Louis D. Brandeis has been quoted as saying, "THE MOST BASIC RIGHT A CITIZEN HAS IS TO BE LEFT ALONE." My two children and I have not had that right, and have suffered at the hands and control of this man since 1971.
