Date: Fri, Sep 15, 2000 10:53 AM I am completely stripped of my identity and rendered to the goodwill of friends who will supply a phone or internet service in their names. The most dangerous part I feel is having someone walk into a doctors office pretending to be you and now they are your medical records. In case of emergency, if you were to use the same service, it could result in severe injury or death becasue of wrongful information. (In my case perscription narcotics were given under my name and id number). Other harrassment not directly involving the use of my social security number gives the SSA the right not to issue a new number-so I am still victimized with vandalism, people sent to my residence expecting a prostitute, accused of drug dealing, etc. This can happen to anyone-my work released my files without permission. Apparently security was not tight enough and the files were copied with all information. Anonymous |
