Dear Mr. Clark: Enclosed please find the original and five copies of the Comments of the National Funeral Directors Association submitted pursuant to the request of the Federal Trade Commission for comments concerning the Trade Regulation Rule on Funeral Industry Practices ("Funeral Rule"). We are also submitting a copy of the Comments to the e-mail address of the Federal Trade Commission. As indicated in its Comments, the National Funeral Directors Association is the largest professional organization of funeral directors in the United States. NFDA represents approximately 13,000 members of the profession. On behalf of our membership, NFDA is requesting to be among the parties the Commission Staff selects for participation in the Public Workshop Conference to be held later this year. We are sending a copy of this letter directly to Mercedes Kelley of the Division of Marketing Practices to notify her of NFDA's interest in participating in the Public Workshop Conference.
