It is merely a different forum or platform for the exchange of values (goods and services), information, and ideas. The format changes, but the priciples remain the same. Principles such as free market enterprise, honest business practice, and fair competition still remain paramount. Remember always to emphasize the spirit of the law, not the letter of the law. With exceedingly minor and obvious changes, current laws governing these matters can easily be applied to their Internet counterparts. Any other approach in my opinion is merely either an irrational, fear-induced reaction to a new phenomenon, or an attempt for those in the legal community to make a name for themselves. |
