I would like to know more about what the FTC propses to do regarding e-mail.

I have built a business on the Internet and found e-mail to be a vital part of that business. Junk e-mail, and the bogus businesses that seem to make the most use of it are hurting my business. I do not see any possible TECHNICAL solution to this problem. I have held a long time that we require a legal/legislative solution. The Net cannot be "self-policing". You do not police that over which you have no power. However, the real difficulty will be the authority of the US over an international entity. You can make great strides because so much of this abusive use of the Net is internal to the States. The real scum will move offshore. However, if they must get their money from the US there must be a way to transfers through the banking system.
