Please consider me for participation in Session One of the Federal Trade Commission's workshop on June 10, 1997.

I am project director of the Privacy Rights Clearinghouse, a nonprofit consumer education and advocacy program located in San Diego, California, and serving primarily the state of California.

The Clearinghouse operates a hotline for California consumers to call with their questions and complaints about privacy issues. We have published a series of 20 guides on a wide range of informational privacy topics. These are available in paper form and on the Clearinghouse Web site, http:www.privacyrights.org.

In our 4 ½ years of operation, we have talked with thousands of consumers about their privacy concerns and, as such, lend a unique perspective to public policy proceedings.
