FTC: Consumer Privacy Comments Concerning Bennett Investigations Inc--P974806 Bennett Investigations Inc Robert M. Benett Telephone 206-979-9324 Secretary, Federal Trade Commission RE Support of Self Regulation by the Information Industry. Dear Mr. Secretary I as a licensed Private Investigator am a routine user of public and non-public records. I use this information to investigate business theft,Insurance fraud, and other crimes that have an economic impact on our daily lives. I support the proposition of self regulation, because the Investigative industry can do a much better job policing itself than some governmental entity, this self policing will also cost the taxpayers less in dollars and aggrevation in the long run. Law Enforcement (local,Federal) are overwhelmed by their own duties, and cannot help the common citizen, like private investigators can. All of my information is confidential and I maintain a high degree of accuracy in my reports due to the law, courts and marketplace. One more thing, if only the government has access to information,it is one step closer to tryanny. Investigators, insurance adjusters, attorneys, court officials need access to this information in order to conduct their daily business and maintain a system of checks and balances that our founding fathers built. Sincerely Robert M. BenettRobert M. Benett |
